Val Zudans M.D.

Dr. Zudans is the CEO of Florida Eye Institute, P.A. and Florida Eye Institute Surgicenter, LLC. He joined the staff in July 2002, after completion of his ophthalmology residency at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami. He is a Board Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
While earning a bachelors of science degree with honors from the University of Florida, Dr. Zudans was an Anderson scholar and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He was awarded his Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Florida College of Medicine. He was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha, the national medical honor society. He was selected for an ophthalmology residency at the prestigious Bascom Palmer Eye Institute from 1999-2002. He dedicated much of his time there to developing his skills and knowledge regarding advanced cataract and refractive surgery. His research projects included investigations involving LASIK and evaluation of the ORBSCAN corneal topography device that is used to assess refractive surgery candidates.
Dr. Zudans is a member of several organizations including the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, Florida Society of Ophthalmology, and Indian River County Medical Society. Dr. Zudans is actively involved in ophthalmology research and was a principal investigator in two recent clinical trials for cataract lens implants. One of his studies was recently published in The Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. He routinely performs the most advanced no-needle, no-stitch, sedation, outpatient cataract surgery.
Dr. Zudans is a caring doctor who practices ophthalmology with the highest professional standards. He and his wife Tracey have four children and live in Vero Beach.
