Dr. Medina was born in New York City and grew up in Boca Raton. He graduated Summa Cum Laude at the University of Florida with a thesis on drug development for diabetes and collected numerous honors, including Phi Beta Kappa. He then attended the University of Pennsylvania, the world’s #2 ranked medical school at that time, graduating among the top in his class. He completed his residency training at the University of South Florida in Tampa. Throughout his career, he has championed advanced cataract surgery and minimally invasive glaucoma techniques.

Dr. Medina is a distinguished member of the Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, the Florida Society of Ophthalmology, and the Palm Beach Ophthalmology Society.

Dr. Medina is fluent in both Spanish and English. His hobbies outside surgery include world travel, photography, art, skiing, and spending time with his family.
